Welcome to Sandlapper Studio

Hi, my name is Jim Ferguson and I am a photographer currently based in Columbia, SC. I am a frequent visitor to the Upstate and I also love traveling through the low country. Inside this site, you'll find a selection from my photography portfolio, information on licensing and prints, my shooting schedule and a look at some of my camera gear. I also keep a blog and run a freelance graphic design website, The Graphic Staff.

I started out shooting nature and landscape photography while I was a student at Clemson University majoring in Graphic Communications. I was also able to get some experience as a photojournalist during this time working as a staff photographer for Clemson's student newspaper, The Tiger. Since then, I have had images published in printed pieces, used in video documentaries, and on several well-known websites.

I shoot a variety of topics, including product photography, sports photography, still lifes, and I still love taking nature and landscape shots. My most recent photography adventure has been shooting formal portraiture and wedding photography. I am always up for learning new photo styles, post-processing techniques and trying new things.
